Saw my TCL 55" 4K w/Roku for $350 at Costco before super bowl -- its not really a "bargin" brand, per se, and they do have higher end lines that have good review..s

At prices like this I almost can't afford NOT to upgrade an old 50-some inch plasma TV doing only 720p... I'll save money in a year or two based on electrical costs alone, nevermind the extra pixels.

Please let me know how the picture compares with Plasma.

You will. And if you bump it up to an OLED - you'll pay about the same as you probably did for the plasma, you'll get an incredible picture, and it'll probably last as long. But it is tough to let go of something that just works. The OLED blacks almost put the plasma blacks to shame, but the combination of 4K and OLED blacks? Just do it.

Costco currently has the TCL 55" #55S403 for $340 through March 4th.

We bought this same TCL for a little cheaper in November ($315+tax) through a Target deal. We have been very happy with it an am considering buying another for the teen hangout room.

Mine is a 55US57 from walmart. Got it for $250 after they screwed up. =)

Some stupid reviews on Amazon. "one star -- was missing remote". Exactly how is that a rating of the TV? How is that helpful?

I dont really trust amazon reviews.

I always read the 1 and 2 star reviews. A surprising number of them are idiots bitching about shipping issues and damaged packaging.
