My wife was right again. - space-time - 02-18-2018 A colleague buys a Ford Focus Electric and plugs in at work. I talk to him about the car, he loves it, $27k - $7500 fed tax credit, -$1500 state credit, etc, good deal. he has maybe 20 mile commute, the car can do 160 mile in Summer and 100 in Winter. he can charge both at home and at work. perfect commuter car. it seems clear from the conversation that that car is purely electric. My wife sees the car and we talk about it, and she mentions that it is Hybrid so it also runs on gas. I say no, you're wrong. she insists she say Hybrid badge on the car. When I go back at work, I look at the car. Yes, passenger door says Hybrid. Driver's door says Electric. I walk around the car, there is no gas tank door. I see the guy later and I ask about it. he starts laughing, same thing happened to him. he bought the car, drove home, and a few days later his wife asked why it says Hybrid. He didn't notice it before. he googles and apparently this defect is not uncommon. Sometimes Ford puts the wrong badge on these cars, it is unclear why they did that, but there are cars out there with Electric on one door and Hybrid on the other door. Re: My wife was right again. - TheTominator - 02-18-2018 Just not paying enough attention at the factory. It's ironic that they lack Focus.
