music to your ears?!......Fergie sings National Anthem @ the NBA All Star Game [ video included ]..... - NewtonMP2100 - 02-19-2018 .......people thought it was awful, worse than Roseanne Barr, some were laughing as she sang it..... Fergie Sings National Anthem at NBA All-Star Game .....Like it or not, the NBA All-Star Game on Sunday was treated to a Fergalicious rendition of the National Anthem. Fergie opened basketball’s starriest night with what can only be described as a unique take on “The Star-Spangled Banner.” The onetime member of the Black Eyed Peas stepped up to the mic and performed a decidedly sultry salute to the red, white and blue. people didn't seem to like it........?! Roseanne's squawking version was much, much worse. Kudos to her for trying to do something different. Re: music to your ears?!......Fergie sings National Anthem @ the NBA All Star Game [ video included ]..... - Filliam H. Muffman - 02-19-2018 I wasn't impressed by the little I heard, the 4 seconds on the news was more than enough. I though Pink gave it a decent attempt at Superb Owl LII. Whitney Houston still has the best one. Re: music to your ears?!......Fergie sings National Anthem @ the NBA All Star Game [ video included ]..... - Lemon Drop - 02-19-2018 Awful. Reactions are priceless though: Don't know what she was going for with that, but if it was "my friend's drunk mom acting sexy" then she nailed it. Jessica Rabbit butchers the national anthem. Charles Barkley said he needed a cigarette after that. Way more disrespectful to the national anthem than kneeling. I was working in the stadium a few days before Super Bowl XL and was privileged to hear Aretha Franklin do several takes. Breathtaking. Re: music to your ears?!......Fergie sings National Anthem @ the NBA All Star Game [ video included ]..... - hal - 02-20-2018 I was never A Rosanne fan, but I saw her rendition maybe 10 years after the fact and I laughed so hard. Even though I knew what to expect, it was so expectantly bad, all I could do is crack up. In an article about the Fergie thing, there was a list of all of the notable horrible renditions in the past, but at the end showed one by Marvin Gaye. It was very similar to Fergie's - thin, chezzy drum machine backing a sultry version of the song - and it sounded great AND was well received. But technically, it was very similar. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRvVzaQ6i8A Re: music to your ears?!......Fergie sings National Anthem @ the NBA All Star Game [ video included ]..... - Lemon Drop - 02-20-2018 hal wrote: I've never seen that clip, that's classic Marvin and it was wonderful. Put that side by side with Fergie's version - not at all the same. Sure they could both be called jazz versions. But his version doesn't make your ears bleed or make you feel so embarrassed for the singer that you want to turn it off. You get passion for the subject, and a strong sense of cool from his version, but not the sound of foreplay. |
