HDMI Splitter / Switcher - spacescape - 02-19-2018 I ran into a slight issue on our basement TV and we ran out of HDMI inputs... One for the cable box... One for the DVD/VCR and now I need one for the Nintendo Switch and the XBox 360 (Just given to me). I zip tied the cables together for the Xbox and Switch so you can manually change them "as needed"... However, I'm looking at some of these 1 to 3 way splitters on amazon and thinking of grabbing one. Any recommendations? Re: HDMI Splitter / Switcher - Spiff - 02-19-2018 Not really, but you can look on Amazon and find one that has a TON of reviews that is generally good. Best Buy also carries them and I have had good luck with them as well. https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=hdmi+switch Re: HDMI Splitter / Switcher - Cary - 02-19-2018 I have a monoprice one that I don’t use anymore - my new receiver has more than enough inputs. The monoprice one is 5 inputs, has it’s own remote (although I used it with a Logitech universal remote). Worked great for me. If you want it, i’d Let it go cheap... Re: HDMI Splitter / Switcher - NewtonMP2100 - 02-19-2018 .....was going to say that I remember monoprice had one.... Re: HDMI Splitter / Switcher - Forrest - 02-19-2018 I have the Fosman 3x1 HDMI switch, listed on the Amazon page linked above. Note not all devices work with this type of switch. I tried using an ATV3 and Bluray player - wouldn't work. This type of switch senses which device is on, and it would not switch off the ATV3 even when it was off. If you have a DVD/VCR, I'm pretty sure this does NOT have HDMI output. Also most XBOX 360 models, except for the e model, also have other outputs besides HDMI. Re: HDMI Splitter / Switcher - Cary - 02-19-2018 My Xbox 360 has an HDMI port... Re: HDMI Splitter / Switcher - pdq - 02-19-2018 I have one that autosenses the newly active HDMI source and switches to it (or you can use a manual switch on it). It works pretty well (although not flawlessly). But circumstances have made it superfluous. It's like this one (although not this brand, I think.) Re: HDMI Splitter / Switcher - Carm - 02-20-2018 You want a switcher not a splitter. Get it with a remote. Auto sensing changes the input based on the input being on/off and sometimes you don’t want to turn off one of the HDMI inputs. Im having issues with HDCP on Blu-Rays and splitter (two TVs from DVD/Blu-Ray player). Looking for an inexpensive one that can handle the task. Failed on 3 so far. Two units labeled for it and my old one that I just tried, I use it for my cable box. Works fine for that. Re: HDMI Splitter / Switcher - NewtonMP2100 - 02-20-2018 .....nowadays.....a lot more people are switchers.....at least they are able to come out as switchers......and it is o.k. to be one.... Re: HDMI Splitter / Switcher - Winston - 02-20-2018 We have a TV with only one HDMI input. The HDMI switcher we have is a Kinivo 501BN. It does well sensing what's just been turned on, with the exception of our Apple TV. Apparently the Apple TV never quite goes off, so it takes a little while for the Kinivo to switch to it. It has both a manual button and a remote. We've had it for five years, and it's worked fine. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0049SCB2Y Good luck. - Winston ps: Ours is a 5 port switch. Kinivo also makes a 3 port switch, the 301BN. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0049S6ZUS |
