With all the hubbub swirling around it, I was wondering who took the plunge? It's only $14.95. I think I'll buy it for my home computer to test it before I drop it on the new work computer. I requested Toast for the work computer because that's tried and true with most of the bugs worked out. Does anyone know how long that price will last?
EDIT: Over at MacZot!, they have the $14.95 price going for the next 15.5 hours. I know the Disco & MacZot! people are connected, so maybe it's the same time allotment buying directly through Disco's site as well. Not sure though. I would like to have more time to try it out.

I found Toast earlier this year for $20 (Sam Goody going-out-of-business sale) and then got a $20 rebate on it! So I doubt I'll be buying. I don't see how it will be "eating Toast for breakfast" but I do want to try out the smoke/eye candy!

I also don't burn many discs these days, so the Finder usually works for me.

I bought it for $5, out of curiosity. Having Toast 5, 6, and 7, I would not have bought it for over $7, and don't see why this was such a big deal, and
But it does have a few nice features. One is Discography, and the other is multi-session burn for DVDs.
It claims to be far more intuitive than toast, and more informative (such as the six items that make up the progress bar). I don't do enough burning to know if that's the case, and haven't done anything with the download yet.
Probably the retail price of $25 will be the "eat toast for breakfast" hook. If one is patient, Toast can be had for almost as little, (even free?).
I probably wouldn't have it now, but I bought it as a Mystery Zot.
Most people, particularly here and at dealmac, are quick to abuse the word "hype", however, I think the buzz was almost all hype. If this shareware app just showed up on versiontracker, it probably would have never got a mention here and anywhere else.

I have Toast 7, and it does all I need it to do, so it's unlikely I'll buy disco. Not sure how much more "intuitive" it is than Toast... I've been using Toast since version 3 and haven't found it difficult to use at all. Maybe it's geared towards newbies who don't really understand the concept of burning.
Toast is pretty powerful, and I usually prefer power over ease of use. Kinda like why I prefer MT-Newswatcher for Usenet over Panic's Unison. Sure, Unison is "easier" to use, but it lacks features that I find necessary.

I bought it. The Discography feature and Multi-Disc Spanning features are worth it to me. A nice interface doesn't hurt either.

Same as Rammie I bought it as the Mystery Zot.
The discography feature is nice, if your an organized sort of person.
I am hoping that future upgrades will follow the same low price mantra that they seem to be using now, one of my biggest complaints about Toast is the high price for updates.
