iTunes problem - davemchine - 04-13-2018

Today iTunes decided it can no longer copy files to it's library. The library points to /Volumes/Drobo5D/iTunes . Other programs can save to this directory but every time I try to add something to iTunes it leaves it in /Volumes/Drobo5D/Automatically Add To iTunes. I've used other programs to verify the iTunes directory is writeable, I've reset the permissions, I've run disk utility on it, and I've verified there are no error in the console log. I'm stumped. Any ideas?

Ah, I figured it out. I had previously added a TV series to my iTunes library but due to it's size I had placed it on another volume and created a symbolic link in the iTunes library that pointed to the real directory. iTunes will READ files this way but it will not WRITE files this way. Deleted the symbolic link and all is good now.
