iOS 11.3: OK or not? - space-time - 04-15-2018 I have an iPhone SE and when a new iOS version comes out, about a week later I get an email from IT instructing me to update, or else... so I updated to 11.3 about a week ago and I have issues with the phone, issues I never had before. for example: some Apps quit, including the Settings (when I looked at the battery health which is beta). Also the automatic rotation no longer worked last night, I had to restart the phone. There is lag, which is quite random. Sometimes the phone responds properly, sometimes it lags by a few seconds. Very annoying. I am tempted to do a reset and restore, but I hate the idea of spending several hours backing up, resetting and restoring the iPhone. The iPhone is 64 GB model with 6 GB free. Maybe I should delete some music and some videos. Re: iOS 11.3: OK or not? - Sarcany - 04-15-2018 When you rebooted the phone, did you just do a regular reboot, using the "slider" to shut it down? Or did you hold down the sleep and home buttons simultaneously to do a force-reboot? Re: iOS 11.3: OK or not? - space-time - 04-15-2018 Slider. I held the "top" button down until the slider appeared. If I do a force-reboot, would that be better? Re: iOS 11.3: OK or not? - Sarcany - 04-15-2018 space-time wrote: Yeah. As a general rule, it's the first thing to try when your phone starts acting wacky. Re: iOS 11.3: OK or not? - ka jowct - 04-15-2018 OK for me on phone(s) and iPad. Re: iOS 11.3: OK or not? - tortoise - 04-15-2018 I can attest to one particular issue, both my iphones used to work with the radio in our 2016 Winnebago RV, but after updating the 6S+ to 11.3 it will no longer connect via USB, with an error code on the Pioneer unit stating firmware out of date, and checking Pioneer site no updates available currently. Will have to call them next week for a solution. My old iphone 5s still connects and plays just fine but then it is still back on a earlier version os IOS that is limited to no more updates. All these devices are becoming more trouble than they are worth IMHO, the days of "it just works" are long gone and dealing with apple problems has become reminiscent of dealing with the crap one used to only encounter when dealing with issues on the Windows software side. Re: iOS 11.3: OK or not? - sekker - 04-15-2018 Ok on my wife's SE and fixed some issues she had prior. S/T, I would only mention that backing up should be happening daily. That shouldn't take any real time because of the frequency of your backing up. < /annoyingreminders > Re: iOS 11.3: OK or not? - RAMd®d - 04-15-2018 No issues for me, 5s 'Phone, iPads A2 and Mini2 Re: iOS 11.3: OK or not? - space-time - 04-15-2018 thanks folks, will try a force-reboot if issues persist, and then maybe even a backup and restore. |
