"HHS says families won’t be immediately reunited" Child trauma outrage to continue -AP - SteveG - 06-20-2018

What this means is that the abuse and traumatizing of thousands of imprisoned children will continue.
(Imagine you are 5 years old...how long is 'eventually'?)

An official with Health and Human Services says the more than 2,300 children separated from their parents at the border as a result of a zero-tolerance policy on illegal crossings won’t be immediately reunited with their families.

Kenneth Wolfe, a spokesman for the department’s Administration for Children and Families, says their cases will proceed through the system.

The children who are separated from their families are turned over to HHS within 72 hours and are then categorized as unaccompanied minors who are eventually placed with sponsors. Officials have said they were working to reunite families as soon as possible but provided no clear answers on how that was going to happen.

President Donald Trump on Wednesday signed an executive order that stopped the separations.

Well, lets face it: this is the “no clear answers” presidency.

We'll see what happens.

The kidnapper's daughter thanks him for releasing his hostages.

Ivanka Trump
Thank you @POTUS for taking critical action ending family separation at our border. Congress must now act + find a lasting solution that is consistent with our shared values;the same values that so many come here seeking as they endeavor to create a better life for their
families

Ivanka really does try to play both sides of the fence. She has lost her soul.

He's putting the military in charge of detentions and asking the Justice Department to overturn the 20-day limit on child-detentions.

The purpose of the executive order is to put whole families into military prisons (remember, they're all being classified as criminals) and detain them indefinitely in military camps where they're beyond public scrutiny.

I don't know about military camps - I did hear that the DOJ is asking the military to send JAGs to border states to act as temporary Ass't US Attorneys so that all of these people can be prosecuted (for their misdemeanors.)

Just spent the day with a friend whose parents immigrated illegally from Guatemala 30 years ago, have worked hard and don't have as much as a parking ticket. He and his sister were born in the US and both have completed college and have good jobs thanks to their hardworking parents. Both parents have been threatened with deportation, the Dad (age 55) actually spent 6 months in jail with a promise that they'd leave his wife alone. Then they came after her too. My friend is trying to scrape together money for attorneys but the wait list for an immigration attorney is around 9 months now.

That, and there are regulations the military doesn't have to abide by.
