What has been your favorite music player - pRICE cUBE - 08-25-2018 All mediums allowed and it isn't just technical convenience but pure enjoyment. Re: What has been your favorite music player - hal - 08-25-2018 my iphone - no contest... I recently found a bit of Pink Floyd Animals rambling around in my head. It suddenly occurred to me that I had to listen to the whole thing RIGHT NOW. It had been way too long. So I did so... While camped at a mountain lake that I had all to myself. It was one of the best listening experiences of my life. Perhaps the other was in a high end sound room that belonged to ESS (high end speak manufacturer in the 70s/80s). An employee/friend got us in there and she spent all Xmas eve playing our favorites with unlimited volume controls. That was fun! (high end turntable system - pre-digital) Re: What has been your favorite music player - Fritz - 08-25-2018 my last 2 cars 2015 Volvo S60 2001 Saab 9.5 both played loud and clean, as well as, mellow and clean. AC/DC to Aretha Re: What has been your favorite music player - NewtonMP2100 - 08-25-2018 ....Raul....and tipped him..... Re: What has been your favorite music player - SteveG - 08-25-2018 A 70,000 watt radio station in Buffalo. The music was selected by tasteful DJ's and if I wanted to hear something, I could just call in and they would play it for me. It also gave me money when the ads aired. Nowadays...a Sansa Fuze, much smaller, but it lets me hear WFUV, a nifty station; also downloads of my old college station, which has gone back to being listenable. Her last car, a 2010 Mazda 3 GT, had a full 11 speaker Bose system -- it rocked like crazy... she isnt really happy... Re: What has been your favorite music player - Fritz - 08-26-2018 mine was stock as well, though it was a mid year, so perhaps different. ran it flat. I checked music mixes in it. Very true to form. Got an S90 to replace it (for the same $). No where near as good, very bright. I dropped 3K and 10K by a bunch. Re: What has been your favorite music player - Racer X - 08-26-2018 My old Sony WM2R. Stereo recording Walkman cassette recorder. Not released in the US I believe. I got it from a house guest who's brother worked at Sony HQ in Tokyo, and he gave it to me when he returned to Japan. It got me through maybe 7 years of my daily paper routes, and later, daily pitch black multi-hour darkroom sessions. I still have it's replacement, a water resistant bright yellow Walkman Sport (with AM/FM radio too) Re: What has been your favorite music player - N-OS X-tasy! - 08-26-2018 The sound system in my Infiniti QX70 sounds amazing. I absolutely love listening to it. My FiiO X5 DAC/player combined with my HiFiMan HE400i planar magnetic headphones also sound amazing. Re: What has been your favorite music player - Todd's keyboard - 08-26-2018 In the early seventies my older brother shipped home (from Vietnam) an Akai reel-to-reel tape recorder that could play and record cassette eight-track tapes, as well. Don't remember which brand of receiver, turntable, and speakers, but they matched the tape recorder and impressed a high-school kid (me). An extension to this system was the cassette player I installed in a '65 VW bus. The bus ran on six volts, so I kept a twelve-volt battery under the seat. (Had to charge it regularly.) Driving around while listening to self-made tapes was great. Todd's soundboard |
