hashtag Nike hashtag Kaepernick - Rolando - 09-04-2018

I guess #Nike realized that millions of working fans buy more Nikes than a few billionaires and hillbillies!

As for the orange fool, has he ever passed up an opportunity to say something stupid?

Nike FTW.

There are many ways to sacrifice everything for what one believes. One is not greater or less than another.

I like it!

The NFL may know how racist its owners and many of its fans are, but Nike knows who has the better story here.

Since the NFL-owners-illegal-collusion-against-Kapernick case seems to be moving to trial, this may be a significant development. Kind of gutsy for Nike to take his side.

I wonder if the owners are going to settle quietly.

Think of the Nike demographic.

It is not old white guys with an 8th grade education. Sure they will lose some sales, but they'll get tons of advertising from it and pick up more sales.

It's marketing.

I think you are correct, Ombligo. I own the stock and thinking over the move I think it ultimately will be a money maker.

Under 50 right wingers I know are boycotting Nike. How dare Nike use the word sacrifice. Apparently that word can only be used in conjunction with soldiers that have died. These people have blindfolded themselves to the racism involved with this issue. To them it's all about patriotism.

Nike has some problems of its own at its HQ in Oregon and seems to be banking (literally) on female Democrats in the state to help them through it.

This year 11 executives have been fired or left due to discrimination and harassment claims of a hostile workplace for women. The company has had droves of talented women leave due to the environment, at a time when their domestic sales are lagging and the female market is the one they need to compete.

I like the add because I admire Kaepernick's leadership in bringing attention to the problem of police brutality towards people of color. Some people will never want to hear that message, which makes it all that more important that it be amplified.

So good for Nike, but mostly good for Kaepernick. He's no longer employed by the NFL so Nike wasn't taking much of a risk there.
