Speaking of Dead Brands - Rolando - 10-03-2018 I got a facebook ad for "DAK" Products. I remember those catalogs in the 80s https://www.dak.com Re: Speaking of Dead Brands - wurm - 10-03-2018 Used to love looking through their catalog. I liked the style in which it was written. I actually bought a couple things from them in the day, too. Figured they were long gone. Re: Speaking of Dead Brands - Don C - 10-03-2018 Got a breadmaker and my first phone/modem which connected my Apple //c to the internet from them. Re: Speaking of Dead Brands - Robert M - 10-03-2018 Rolando, I remember them. I delved into the site a bit and I gotta say, the bluetooth receiver they're selling actually sounds pretty darn good. 'course, I've got an mPOW model that is a bluetooth receiver/speakerphone that works well for less than $20 but that's a different matter entirely. DAK's mailing address is in Brooklyn but their contact number is a Nassau County area code. Does kinda make you wonder... Robert Re: Speaking of Dead Brands - Buzz - 10-03-2018 I wonder if Drew is still part of it??? == Re: Speaking of Dead Brands - RAMd®d - 10-03-2018 I remember the catalogs. There was more than a fair bit of schlock, there. Don't ask me how I know. LOL Re: Speaking of Dead Brands - rz - 10-04-2018 Used to love his catalog. I remember the "Bone Phone", which basically turned your bones into a speaker so you could listen to music without headphones. Re: Speaking of Dead Brands - JoeH - 10-04-2018 Buzz wrote: According to the wikipedia article - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DAK_Industries, he retired in 2012 and sold the business to a long time associate. The original DAK had gone out of business in a Chapter 7 bankruptcy in December 1994. The current DAK.com was started several years later as DAK 2000. Re: Speaking of Dead Brands - NewtonMP2100 - 10-04-2018 ....did they have lingerie......?? Re: Speaking of Dead Brands - wurm - 10-05-2018 This could be interesting if it ever gets updated. ![]() (from the website) |
