I was tempted today...
I went for my quarterly visit to the nearby laundromat to wash big things that do not like a top loading washer. When I arrived, I noticed a car parked in the handicap spot that was running with no handicap tag. I go in, do my biz and go outside again to get away from the loud TV inside. The car is still running.
Now that I have to take mom around sometimes, it REALLY pisses me off seeing healthy people using handicap parking. There are LOTS of unused spaces that could be used. There is also a loading zone...
I see kids coming and going from the car - there's a TV running in it. I see the mom occasionally get out and go back in again. The car has been running all this time - 10 minutes.
I mention it to the guy that manages the biz and he rolls his eyes. 'Yeah, she does that all the time - I'm thinking about banning her.' The worst thing, he says, is that she comes in to wash ONE thing. I look at him quizzically, 'yes', he says, ' she brought in a bedspread.'
She finishes her biz and leaves. The car had been running for well over an hour. The manager has had enough - he banned her. When she leaves, she throws the little cart into the parking area in protest.
Whatta jerk. No, I didn't approach her and say so to her face, but I was tempted.

Just had this happen at the bank/pizza place/super market lot. all the close spots were filled. So I parked a little farther away and walked. Needed to use the ATM, inside of bank was jammed. Young 20 something pulls into only open spot, handicap, and walks into the bank, stands in long ass line.
What do you do?

My brother in law HATES people who aren’t disabled but use the handicap spaces. When he sees someone doing it, he follows them into stores with a fake limp and fake speech impediment, spitting as he.berates them. He’s not disabled, but he is 6 ft 5. Makes the jerks really uncomfortable.

I eschewed dating a woman because I saw her distinctive car parked in the handicapped zone at the grocery store twice.

This person has succeeded in screwing up two accessible spaces at once.

I was always conscious of handy zones and became more so when I had a girlfriend with a prosthetic leg. Since I have become PlacardMan™, I have become a bit more pissy about it too.
Note the silver vehicle parked right tight on the line between their space and the handy space. WTF, people with disabilities need to be able to open their doors too.
I do put the blame on developers and zoning laws requiring so many spaces that even "compact" vehicles do not fit in the "compact" spaces. Enough! Take a lesson from the Costco!

understandable... some people will just do it without a care and other people just can't understand why. No way could the two be compatible.
