SOLD: McIntosh MAC 1900 AM/FM Receiver w/phono input - robfilms - 04-10-2019 I have FOR SALE a McIntosh MAC 1900 AM/FM Receiver w/a phono input. It works just fine. It was my daily machine till about a year ago when I was asked by my ever-loving-most wonderful-partner-in-life wife to get something smaller, maybe bluetooth even! Anyway, after a year in my closet, it's time to put the MAC 1900 up for sale. I am the second owner. Everything worked a year ago. Everything powers on but I have not inserted the MAC 1900 back into my system to test every function. It is sold AS IS. Frankly, my present audio set-up is my iPhone, my wife's iPhone and a stereo pair of JBL bluetooth speakers. Sadly, that's it. I am hoping to soon take some pix. It comes with the lovely wood case. The MAC 1900 was made at the height of American's analog audio power period. This receiver can pull it's weight and it's weight is a testament to that! It is heavy. My old music teacher (HS; class of 1984) had a full McIntosh setup, cobbled together from second-hand sales and "right place at the right time" purchases, as he put it. Envious as hell of that, back in the day. His LP collection was great, and he dismissed the CD as a passing fad. I remember telling him back in the mid 80s that by the end of the decade you'd be hard pressed to find an LP in stores, and he just laughed. That whole era -- when I got magazines like Audio magazine and Stereo Review religiously -- was wonderful. My own first system was a mismatched bunch of nonsense, but I loved that setup and sometimes miss messing with cabling. I ended up giving it to my son in 2012, he used it for 6 more years, when it just stopped working! Re: FOR SALE: McIntosh MAC 1900 AM/FM Receiver w/phono input - robfilms - 07-11-2019 SOLD! |
