Recall issued for Ragú pasta sauce that may contain plastic fragments
.....Mama Mia, that’s a spiky meatball.
A voluntary recall has been issued for recent batches of five varieties of Ragú pasta sauce over concerns that they may contain fragments of plastic.
“There have not been any reports of consumer injuries or complaints,” Ragu manufacturer Mizkan America said in a press release. “Mizkan America is taking this action out of an abundance of caution.”
The recall is targeted at retail customers, but Mizkan is also advising individual consumers to throw out any of the affected sauces they own. The affected sauces are:
Chunky Tomato and Garlic, 45 oz. with cap code JUN0620YU2
Chunky Tomato Garlic & Onion, 66 oz. with cap code JUN0520YU2
Chunky Tomato Garlic & Onion, 66 oz. with cap code JUN0620YU2
Old World Style Traditional, 66 oz. with cap code JUN0420YU2
Old World Style Meat, 66 oz. with cap code JUN0520YU2
Anyone who bought the affected sauces can call Mizkan America’s customer service hotline at 800 328-7248 during business hours to receive a replacement

.....time.....if you have kids and work long hours, you don't have the time to make things from scratch.....no matter how easy......

Exactly, Mrs. Buzz made some remark about Ragu not being of much use, and I reminded here that it was "kid friendly", not gourmet eatin' sauce.

I disagree on both counts --
1) pouring ingredients for pasta sauce in a slow cooker and letting it go for a few hours does not take any more work than cooking the pasta.
2) Children will develop a discerning palette if fed quality, you are also eliminating a host of high;y processed crap.
Involve the children in the cooking and it becomes a fun, educational family event.

.....most people don't know how to cook.....they also don't know how easy using a slow cooker can be......and honestly some people are 'lazy/tired' and don't want to take the time to do it.....especially when you are tired from a long day of work......but yes some are able to do it.....

You hear the same lame excuses when parent(s) don't feed their child breakfast or
prepare a 'bagged lunch' for school.
Breakfast: Cereal & Milk in a bowl + banana takes < 2 minutes.
Lunch: Make sandwich, put in bag with fruit cup/piece of fruit takes < 3 minutes.

......you are assuming the parents are 'responsible'......not all parents are such.....
