Why does iTunes launch itself and start playing music? - steve... - 06-20-2019 Ghosts? I put my iMac to sleep while I ran an errand. Photoshop was the only application running. When I returned it was playing classical music from an album — 1st one in the artist alphabetical list. This is the second time it's happened. Re: Why does iTunes launch launch itself and start playing music? - vision63 - 06-20-2019 Mine does it too. Something is triggering it. I've just been too lazy to investigate. Re: Why does iTunes launch itself and start playing music? - RAMd®d - 06-20-2019 Me three. It seems to have something to do with my AirPods. I had previously synced them to my 27" iMac which is not my main machine. After leaving the room, and coming back, the iMac wakes up and starts playing a song. The first few times I'd put the iMac to sleep and it'd wake right back up in about 10-15s. I disconnected the AirPods and it seems like that stopped it. Re: Why does iTunes launch itself and start playing music? - space-time - 06-21-2019 do you have an IR remote? Re: Why does iTunes launch itself and start playing music? - hal - 06-21-2019 There are some weird file extensions that itunes claims ownership to that are used by adobe apps. I don't think there is a central place where ALL file associations are visible (anymore), but there must bea way to see them - get in there and change everything that isn't mp3 or aac (or whatever else you have itunes running) and kill the association. Sorry to not supply better info - this is based on OS9 memory. Re: Why does iTunes launch itself and start playing music? - SteveG - 06-21-2019 try shutting down and restarting. worked for me Re: Why does iTunes launch itself and start playing music? - steve... - 06-21-2019 Sarcany wrote: No iPhone connected and I don't remember touching any of the media keys, unless I accidentally bumped something when putting it to sleep. space-time wrote: No IR remote for the Mac but how about a garage door opener? hal wrote: I'll have to dig around. |
