When a group of gay men with a fondness for bull riding banded
together to form the Arizona Gay Rodeo Association in 1986,
they were bluntly denied access to many regional rodeo arenas,
and even run out of one. Twenty years later, the association
operates one of the largest rodeos in the Valley, the Road
Runner Regional Rodeo.
Comments by liberal weenie:
No mention of the typical animal rights protestors showing up
for this rodeo en masse as they routinely did for the annual
Fiesta de los Vaqueros when I lived in Tucson. I can only
imagine the internal conflict of the lefties who usually
boycott and protest the rodeo in AZ.

They must be in high gear what with Brokeback Mt. in the theaters now. I saw a parody
on the web called -Bareback Mt.- It was about a cowboy who fell in love with a horse he
could ride bareback (I guess that means something to gays).
At one point he comes home leading the horse and his wife, in tears is standing on the
back porch and says to him,- There were men here today ...from the HUMANE society!- I
guess we know what he was up to.
But better they buck the broncs than...
