iPhone Calendar app and sharing - BernDog - 09-10-2019 I'm having trouble sharing a calendar I'm subscribed to. It's from an app called SubAlert that I use to manage substitute teaching jobs. I'd like to share the calendar with my wife so she can also see what jobs I have coming up. Through their app, I have done "Auto-Sync Scheduled Jobs to Calendar App." That syncs it to a "Subscribed" calendar in Calendar on my phone, but I'm not able to get it into iCloud, and from what I can tell, it seems like that's the issue. I have an option to "Add Person" for my other calendars (in iCloud) but not this one, which is under it's on section called "Subscribed" on my phone. Everything I've googled for says I should be able to do this, but I can't. I've sent a message to their support, waiting to hear back, but I don't know if this is something on their end or an iOS thing. Any ideas? Re: iPhone Calendar app and sharing - BernDog - 09-10-2019 And... this happens every time I post a question. 5 minutes after I post a question, I figure it out. I think I thought of a solution but I can't test it until my wife gets home. If I install the app and log in on my wife's phone, I should get the same option to sync the calendar to her Calendar app on her phone. If that doesn't work, it sounds like the typical way you subscribe to a calendar would be through a link. Maybe their support people can send me the link to my calendar. I know, I likely just solved the problem I just asked about. Maybe I should ask for winning lottery numbers next time. Then I'll have them all figured out. Re: iPhone Calendar app and sharing - BernDog - 09-10-2019 And, it worked. Thanks for all of you on the forum! You're all wonderful! Re: iPhone Calendar app and sharing - Carm - 09-10-2019 You are welcome, we are here all week. Re: iPhone Calendar app and sharing - rich in distress - 09-10-2019 For the record, reading your first post made me think that the sub app was using a local calendar instead of one that was located on iCloud. Also for the record, I always make sure I don’t have any local calendars when I set up a device. Then I will be free of syncing shenanigans. Anyway... |
