Replaces a '9.7"' model - the standard size for everything prior to them messing with the iPad Pro models.
This does NOT make a big difference to the user.
But it means ALL prior peripherals etc have to be replaced.

....yup...samsies.......they just change size so consumer has to buy new peripherals....nothing really 'new'........

Well, 6, 7, 8 had near same dimensions, lots of cases would fit them all... and iPad Pro 1st, air, 5th, 6th and 7th were all the same size too...
I find it further confusing that its 3 nearly identical to the Air, and runnng a processor now 3 generations old.
Im sure the iPPs will get the A13 -- other iPads shoud get the A12.

.......no but why 'upgrade' it......it is the same as the 9.7....they just changed the size to 10.2.....otherwise it is the same so why even bother to upgrade.........except just to have an 'upgrade'....

There are still a lot of people for whom this would be their first iPad.
There are still a lot of people who didn't upgrade their iPad the last time a new one was announced.
Or the time before that.

I agree that 1/2 in isn't much of a difference. The bigger deal is the smart connector.
And it stll has a headphone jack!
