10.2" iPad - what is the point? - sekker - 09-11-2019 Replaces a '9.7"' model - the standard size for everything prior to them messing with the iPad Pro models. This does NOT make a big difference to the user. But it means ALL prior peripherals etc have to be replaced. 'User hostile'. https://9to5mac.com/2019/09/10/ipad-10-2-inch-screen-announced/ Re: 10.2" iPad - what is the point? - NewtonMP2100 - 09-11-2019 ....yup...samsies.......they just change size so consumer has to buy new peripherals....nothing really 'new'........ I find it further confusing that its 3 nearly identical to the Air, and runnng a processor now 3 generations old. Im sure the iPPs will get the A13 -- other iPads shoud get the A12. Re: 10.2" iPad - what is the point? - WHiiP - 09-11-2019 You don't HAVE to buy it, ya know? Re: 10.2" iPad - what is the point? - NewtonMP2100 - 09-11-2019 .......no but why 'upgrade' it......it is the same as the 9.7....they just changed the size to 10.2.....otherwise it is the same so why even bother to upgrade.........except just to have an 'upgrade'.... Re: 10.2" iPad - what is the point? - RAMd®d - 09-11-2019 This does NOT make a big difference to the user. There are still a lot of people for whom this would be their first iPad. There are still a lot of people who didn't upgrade their iPad the last time a new one was announced. Or the time before that. Re: 10.2" iPad - what is the point? - Rolando - 09-11-2019 I agree that 1/2 in isn't much of a difference. The bigger deal is the smart connector. And it stll has a headphone jack!
