Favorite video version of Les Miserables? - Dennis S - 09-17-2019

I watched the one with Hugh Jackman again tonight. It was good in some ways but who was the moron who hired Russell Crowe? And they left stuff out like the court scene. There was about 15 seconds of it. I've seen other movies but I don't remember a thing about them. I remember one broadcast on PBS probably in the 90's that had a great Thénardier.

I much prefer the 1935 Fredric March - Charles Laughton film. Pop open an incognito window cuz the Russians put the whole movie online 'fo free. https://ok.ru/video/343399926435

psst. I don't use an incognito window myself.

I love Charles Laughton. I'll have to watch that. Thanks.

If you get the chance, this is a stunning production. https://m.imdb.com/title/tt1754109/?ref_=fn_al_tt_3

I don't have a favorite on film. They all have deficits.

The Mercury Theater audio production is stellar.
