Please Let This Be True - The Far Side Returns! - graylocks - 09-17-2019 Larson's take on our current political state of affairs would be so welcome. The Far Side could be back from extinction, and the timing's so right Re: Please Let This Be True - The Far Side Returns! - NewtonMP2100 - 09-17-2019 ....Far......and Away.....???? Re: Please Let This Be True - The Far Side Returns! - raz - 09-17-2019 No!!!!! My 'Complete Farside' won't be Re: Please Let This Be True - The Far Side Returns! - Acer - 09-17-2019 I've somewhat enjoyed the return of Bloom County, though the publication is really sporadic making the story arcs (a prominent feature of the original iteration) limited and hard to follow. Far Side was one-offs/arc-less which might better suit a casual schedule. I know these top-tier cartoonists chaffed at the tyranny of a publication schedule interfering with their art, but they created an awful lot of good stuff under that external motivation. Notice how many of them, when out from under that pressure simply stop entirely leaving us with only Collectors' Editions to reminisce by. Then there's Garfield. On at least one of those, not only has the original creator died of old age but the person who was brought in to replace them has subsequently died of old age as well.
