Insurance company charged mom for collision on $2,500 car for 4 years - Dennis S - 09-27-2019

I insured the car in September, 2015. I told them since it was a 2002 car that I didn't want collision and comprehensive. I never looked at the policy since she was in charge of it. I added another car today and the agent said the 2002 had collision on it. I haven't figured out how much she was overcharged yet. I wonder if there's any chance at a partial refund. If there had been a collision, they wouldn't have paid anything on a car that old and almost worthless.

You are screwed because it happened much too long ago.

The car was still covered, so no basis for refund. Sorry.

Most you can do is fire the insurance agency and do your business elsewhere..

If there was an accident they would have totalled it and payed $2500 or whatever it is worth as opposed to nothing.

How much of a premium was the collision on a $2500 car? I keep collision and comprehensive on a similar vintage car, and it adds $150 a year. It's not breaking the bank in my case.

I haven't looked. I may just let it slide. I assume that collision on an almost worthless car would be pretty low, right?

I have a 2003 vehicle, actually is really good shape but at best I could argue worth $4500, probably have to settle for less. Annual collision coverage is $134 yr
