iPhone XR to iPhone 11 feature set comparison - pinkoos - 09-27-2019

If anybody is on the fence about upgrading their XR to an 11, this could possibly push you over

When it's all laid out like this, there's a LOT of upgrades in the 11 vs the XR

HTH someone

My company bought me an XR back in late July -- and I am very very happy with it, coming from a completely borked iPhone 7 -- so I missed out on the "30 day returns, no questions asked" bit. However, the company *also* said I'm free to upgrade if I want, but the difference is on me, so I might go in and see what Apple will give me for my like-new XR as a direct trade-in. Couldn't hurt to ask, I suppose.

"Up to" $370 according to this:

Plug in your specs and see what it says (and report back to us!)

Screw that noise. That's less than half of the purchase price just a couple of months ago. I'll keep it until it breaks, then.

My summary:

- A little faster and with an hour better battery life.
- Tons of camera improvements and new features.

The other things don't seem significant to me (new colors, faster face recognition, etc.).

A comparison like this is most helpful for someone deciding between the two, not for someone replacing an XR with an 11. People doing that are going to take a bath…unless they plan to give the old one to a family member or something.

But with the $100 price difference, it's going to be a tough call for people deciding between the two. Seems worth it for what you get for the extra $100, but if your family is moving up from multiple aging phones, it's hard to beat the value of the XR.

Sorry; I should clarify: I love the XR. Easily the best iPhone I've used yet. And had luck been on my side, I would have gotten the 11, but my 7 just went completely bonkers and I had to replace when I had to replace it. The company said we'll get you an XR and I did not say no.

I'm a bit jealous of the enhanced camera improvements with the 11 but the XR takes excellent photos -- especially compared to what I had with the 7.

Bottom line is I'm grateful for what I have, and look forward to how advanced the next iPhone I get some years from now will be.
