URI for Airport connected printer? - JEBB - 11-29-2006

I want to print from a Linux computer to my Canon printer connected via USB to my Airport Extreme Base Station. Linux asks for the URI of the printer. Can anyone tell me what kind of number that is and how I might find it? I kmow the IP address of the AEBS.

Thanks.

Your Airport has an upper respiratory infection?

I don't know actually, but have you checked the system profiler (under network) or the network browser, or the airport setup utility? Those would be my first guesses. I had an AE for few days, but returned it, but remember that when I plugged in my printer it was set up and recognised and easy to use in a minute or so (on both my mac and my PC), so I didn't have to anything fancy to set it up.

I remember under network printer sharing you can give the printer a name instead of using the IP address, that might help too.
