Nano bites the dust - ho'ard - 11-29-2006 I was on a bus yesterday, Nano in shirt pocket, listening . . . Black 2 GB model, $129 refurb from Apple Store. It's thrown my 20 gigger into disuse. I had to run diagonally across a large intersection to catch the next bus (they changed it all to "far side" stops to combat bus bunching)-- driver grudgingly stopped for me. Took my seat and discovered dangling headphone line and nothing in shirt pocket. Got off, ran back two blocks, spied the nano in the street roughly where I boarded the bus. Unlocked it, plugged the phones in, resumed play right where it left off. I can't find a single sratch or scuff on the thing that I can attribute to hitting the ground. Seems like all the dress shirts popping up at the store are this slippery material-- apart from making your pants fall down easier, they aparently make it easy for a Nano to slip up and out . . . tough little bugger, and/or lucky incident. Not sure whether I'd rather have my pants falling down, or unable to fasten them around an extra 3 inches of flannel . . . Re: Nano bites the dust - incognegro - 11-30-2006 glad it didn't break! |
