ENDED: 27" LCD screen for a mid 2010 iMac - Grateful11 - 10-22-2019

Mine has dark hazy lines in it and I'm tired of trying to edit images but nothing changes in the those areas LOL! Let me know if you have one you want to get rid of or know of a reliable company that sells them.
Thanks

Can you post a photo of the problem? Are you certain that its the LCD screen itself?

I agree.

I'll get a photo but it's not the plastic cover. We've had it apart to change the SSD twice and we cleaned the magnetic plastic cover each time.

I know it looks like dirt but it's not and no one smokes here. This is actually the second panel it's had, it was replaced under an Apple Replacement program but they refused to replace it again.

This is the worst spots. My iPhone did not want to focus on it. I put that screenshot icon there for reference.

Sorry, I'm going to ask silly questions - have you taken off the glass and tried wiping off the gray smudges?

Off the glass or the LCD panel? The glass has been cleaned several times, both sides, with a micro fiber cloth. I don't think I tried to clean the panel as I'd rather not touch it but at this point it might be worth a try. Looking at it though you can't see anything on it with the iMac turned off.

Try cleaning the panel directly. I think I had a similar issue and found it to be effective. At least worth a shot.

also, i think the panel isn't as sensitive to cleaning as one would worry - backlighting pushes through minor defects.

Will do Matt. I'll try it tomorrow, just a micro fiber cloth, I assume no cleaner.

I did eventually try and clean the screen directly, the actual panel, it didn't help.
