What to do with a used Dish Networks satellite dish? - bryanus - 12-03-2006 I just cancelled my service with Dish and went to cable (better deal). They want my receiver back, but they said the dish is mine to keep. Is it useful for anything? Or should I chuck it into the dumpster? TIA. A lot of the new RVs come equipped with a satellite receiver and a dish in a dome on the roof. If the RV is parked in a slot with trees overhead, the satellite signal can be blocked. A separate connection is provided in the RV for use of an external dish located away from the RV and the trees and a lot of RVers, including me, have an extra dish for that purpose. All that being said, I doubt that you will get much for it. A new Winegard dish and stand at Camping World goes for $90.
