Cingular dives into the deep end with Sprint: 15 cent Text Messaging - microchip13 - 12-03-2006 http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1057197 As of January 27th all Cingular Text messages are being bumped up to 15 cents sent and received. It's not known yet if this will allow people to get out of contract for free. Re: Cingular dives into the deep end with Sprint: 15 cent Text Messaging - SteveJobs - 12-03-2006 kids everywhere panic. Re: Cingular dives into the deep end with Sprint: 15 cent Text Messaging - GGD - 12-03-2006 Parents of kids everywhere panic. Re: Cingular dives into the deep end with Sprint: 15 cent Text Messaging - ho'ard - 12-03-2006 Trying to push people into a "package". As long as I have some control over it it doesn't bother me. FWIW TM's can also be blocked entirely for free, Too bad they're actually useful now and then, Re: Cingular dives into the deep end with Sprint: 15 cent Text Messaging - Seacrest - 12-03-2006 My phone sends 'em on its own when it sits in my pocket. I was unaware there was a charged for RECEIVING them, though. Re: Cingular dives into the deep end with Sprint: 15 cent Text Messaging - ho'ard - 12-03-2006 My old "digital" plan only had a charge for sending, not receiving. Was still bound to AT&T terms after it was slurped up by Cingular. I switched to a newer plan and charges for both directions is now standard. Re: Cingular dives into the deep end with Sprint: 15 cent Text Messaging - SteveJobs - 12-03-2006 spineless parents of kids everywhere panic Re: Cingular dives into the deep end with Sprint: 15 cent Text Messaging - Buzz - 12-03-2006 what if you have a blackberry/treo/pocket pc type phone and just use internet IM'ing instead??? I can see where the $40-$50 flat rate for data service could be cheaper than 15ยข a pop each way for texting; that's basically 5 round trip texts a day... we have a niece that does that every hour she's awake, don't know what her current carrier is though. Re: Cingular dives into the deep end with Sprint: 15 cent Text Messaging - microchip13 - 12-04-2006 With CIngular I don't think unlimited text messaging is possible(but I could be wrong), the closest is their $30 a month plan that has 4000(?) messages I believe. Re: Cingular dives into the deep end with Sprint: 15 cent Text Messaging - Robert M - 12-04-2006 Micro, Excellent news because I hate text messaging. Phones are for talking, not texting. If I could block text messaging outright, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Robert |
