What should I do with old iOS devices that are semi and non functional? - pRICE cUBE - 12-03-2019

I have an iPhone 5 that died a few years ago. Apple genius said it would be $150 so I replaced it with an iPhone 6 for slightly less. It cannot be wiped or reset, something causes it to be stuck at the connect to iTunes warning and that’s it.

There is also an iPad 2 that is mostly functional but has some water damage due to a leaky pipe. I use it for a few things such as the forum and a few other minor tasks. Any heavy lifting and the apps crash.

I have an iPad 1 that doesn’t really do much anymore other than act as a Roku remote control backup.

Any useful ideas on what to do with these devices? How do I responsibly and safely dispose of these devices?

FS&FI - you'd be surprised what people here will take. But otherwise, you can take any Apple device to an Apple store and turn it in for recycling. They have a pretty reputable recycling program, so at least you won't be dumping lead and rare earth metals into the watershed.

.....Apple should let you 'recycle'......there are sometime 'community' events where you can donate used/broken devices (they will wipe it for you)..........they just had one a few months ago (make sure sponsored by city/state org)...........

I’d rather watch American football and deal with ads by running to the restroom or grabbing food than watching Fly Emirates play Chevrolet.

It's my preference.
