FOUND: Nintendo Switch - Z - 04-09-2020

Anyone have one that didn’t end up getting used / loved like they thought it might? Want to send My brother one for his bday and online they’re kinda scarce.

Ended up locating one via Best Buy in late April, just in time for said bday.

Bwahahahaha Confusedmiley-laughing001:

$150 over retail (or more) on eBay. We were looking about 2 hours ago.

I found parts of the interwebs that creeped ME out.

Reports are that they are scarce and resellers buy out store stock that have any and resell $100 or more over retail.

Wow. I'll have to keep my eyes out for one at Walmart when I go in.

Re: WANTED: Nintendo Switch - Zoidberg - 04-10-2020

My daughter wanted to get one right before all the current stuff started; right around when Animal Crossing came out. Everyone was out of them. Her brother has one, and he shares it with her, but there's an issue with Animal Crossing (and the Switch in general, I think, but I could be wrong) about not supporting multiple player logins like other consoles do.

Remember how everyone wished the iPad would support separate user logons like a Mac did? Same situation, if I understand everything right.

Various Stock Checker sites -- and you can ignore any listing that says IN STOCK when it points to eBay or Amazon; those are bullshit resellers jacking up prices to astronomical proportions.

Some retailers also have "email me when available" sign-ups. I don't think Amazon is doing that these days; there's so many things out of stock. (I have an alert set up at a couple of electronics resellers I sometimes deal with for work.)

Zoid- your daughter can absolutely set up another user on the switch for her own Animal Crossing session.

Thank you; will investigate.

[ADDED] Both kids reminded me that, yeah, you can set up separate users, but the game ties the island to the Switch itself. I don't know (or understand) the gameplay on this one, so I defer to them. She's said a few times she's fine waiting, and reminding us that her birthday is in July, so maybe there'll be stock by then. Smile

Yeah, the second describes it well.

Re: WANTED: Nintendo Switch - space-time - 04-15-2020

and I was somewhat disappointed that i could not find a deep discount when I bought one last fall. I paid $300 at BB and bought a $60 game too. I felt ripped off after buying an Xbox for $170.
