6s battery - I'm confused - AllGold - 04-23-2020 It was previously so bad that it couldn't possibly have sucked any more. From a full charge, it could only go less than a hour--on low power mode--doing absolutely nothing before shutting down. Now, all the sudden it's not as bad. It still kind of sucks but appears to be usable. I can take it off the charger and use it a little without it immediately dropping precipitously plus let it sit idle for a couple hours. It must know it's both scheduled for battery replacement, and I have been looking at new phones. It has been showing 95% battery health the whole time. Re: 6s battery - I'm confused - cbelt3 - 04-23-2020 "Low Power Mode" ? I have to keep my 6s in that mode or it sucks itself dry in less than 2 hours. And mine claims to be at 91%. And I had Apple replace the battery last year when they had that $25 price going. I will say that 'performance management protections' make the phone almost unusable, so I turn it off all the time. Re: 6s battery - I'm confused - mikebw - 04-23-2020 What version of iOS are you guys running? My 6s is on 13.1.3 still, and no problems with the power running out. Original battery. Re: 6s battery - I'm confused - cbelt3 - 04-23-2020 13.4.1 Purchased it January 2016. Battery swap in December 2018. I use it a lot. Re: 6s battery - I'm confused - NewtonMP2100 - 04-23-2020 ....so it's like when one hits puberty.....or goes off to college......confusion.....??? Re: 6s battery - I'm confused - AllGold - 04-23-2020 Currently running 13.4 but I had the problem with a previous iOS. I think the battery was replaced about 18 months ago but I'm not sure on the exact timing. It was also that kind of bad before the replacement--maybe even a little worse. After the replacement it was fine until recently. A year later they were noticeably bad and have just gotten worse. Mine shows 89% right now and only lasts half a day; I don't want to ask my wife to check her's--it will just irritate her! Re: 6s battery - I'm confused - space-time - 04-23-2020 AllGold wrote: I have seen cases where an iPhone would use battery so fast that it would heat up. Restarting iPhone did not help. A hard reboot (press home and power at the same time until iPhone reboots) fixed the issue in both cases. I wonder if you did (intentionally or not) a hard reboot. Re: 6s battery - I'm confused - AllGold - 04-23-2020 I previously did a hard reboot intentionally and it had no effect on the problem. Re: 6s battery - I'm confused - macphanatic - 04-23-2020 Download Coconut Battery on a Mac. Plug your iPhone into the Mac and direct the app to your phone. It will give you a decent indication of the battery condition. I did this before taking my son's iPhone in. Coconut Battery's report was pretty close to the Apple proprietary software. |
