What face mask is cool (temperature)? - Cary - 06-07-2020

I have been wearing the blue pleated disposable masks - they are too hot for me, and got my glasses.

Any pointers re: what is cooler?

I've looked at the face boaters - that doesn't look cool to.me... Am I wrong?

The blue or white pleated exam masks are the coolest.

N95 and physicians' masks are thicker and cloth masks are more insulative.

I've found that if I make an effort to moderate my breathing -- keep it slow and steady -- my masks do not feel oppressively hot.

A handkerchief will probably be the coolest, and it can occasionally be spritzed with water for a swamp cooler affect.

I would expect that a wet handkerchief would be harder to breathe through than a dry one.

As far as the glasses fogging - i read somewhere if you use foaming hand soap on lenses - it keeps them from fogging up when wearing a mack.

Been working for me at work with the readers I use. Foam them up and wipe excess with paper towel (or soft cloth to be safe) - usually lasts for hours so may have to do a few times during the day.
