taking a dump?!....dumpster dive find: Technics SL-BD22 turntable....... - NewtonMP2100 - 06-10-2020
....someone in my building tossed a Technics SL-BD22 turntable [ in pretty good condition ] along with 2 large boxes of LPs [ mostly 80s, soul/r&b ].......on Ebay looks like the turntable is worth maybe $70-$150......
.....one of the legs is off, but it looks like the screw came off [ will see if I can find a screw to use ]........
....turntable won't turn but I'm guessing probably an issue with the belt......go to Youtube and there is video on how to change the belt.....luckily, the belt just fell off and after putting it back on, the turntable now turns.......
.....placed one of the records on after connecting to speaker and it plays well.....so just have to fix the one foot......the power cord was missing but used the power cord from Apple Airport express......

Dayum !!! Reminds me that I’ve gotta get a belt for my 70’s Kenwood turntable. The original is a bit stretched out.

I lent/gave my son my vynil collection. He priced them at

Turns out they are worth about $1000, including a couple worth over $200.
If I could go back in time I would collect hundreds of vinyls at garage sales!

Nice. The Technics "consumer grade" turntables in that era were excellent. Still have my SL-J2, and it sounds great.
