F/U How to protect yourself from a rental scam - lost in space - 07-13-2020

MRF

It was a scam. I found the property on the county property search page, which led to the real owner, which led to the real ad on the owner's web site, a real estate investment company. The rent was a lot higher. Our daughter sent us copies of the application, which looked amateurish, and when our daughter pressed the scammer for documentation that she was the owner, there was no reply. Thanks, all. Lesson learned.

Good job! It does not always work to find the tax assessor page, but this time it did.

Daughter got in touch with Seattle police and was advised to contact FBI. Woa, baby!
