Advice on trading up to a new iPhone SE - celliott - 07-13-2020
My wife has been using an old 6s and wants a new SE. Verizon career. We're going to pay in full with the order- no monthly payment.
Options ordering directly from Apple:
- Verizon specific phone
- Unlocked phone
I've never bought a phone outside of Verizon and I'm not totally sure how it all works.
Any input from anyone?

I'm home recovering a week since having quad bypass surgery. Not a lot of fun, so I'm working on things to keep me busy. This is my second day home.

As to buying outside your carrier.... I'm with AT&T but have bought my last 2 phones from Best Buy and Walmart respectively and registering the phone with AT&T and getting them working was a cinch. I doubt you will have a problem.

unlocked. you never know what carrier options will come down the line and if she's moving from a 6s then she will probably hold onto the SE for a long time.

No phone advice, I'm about to upgrade my 6S+ that's been a real trooper for me. I need to get one of those SE's for my sister, who's complaining that her new Jitterbug is worthless. An SE will be a HUGE jump up for her.

Apple store - unlocked.
If you use Apple card, can pay monthly with no interest.
