Dropbox family email - davemchine - 07-15-2020
I received an email from Dropbox offering a family plan for $16.99/mo but when I go to change my plan it says 19.99. Frustrating.

I do not see this as an option for my ancient Dropbox account.

I had a chat support session with Dropbox. Their website has some oddities that make it confusing. In the end Sekker is correct. Once I switched to annual billing I got the discount for the family plan.

Whats the advangea of a family plan? its the same storage space?
Onedrive for families seems a better option...

I agree that OneDrive's family option is likely better for many.
But Dropbox really is better as a cloud service IMHO, especially for sharing files and often integrates better with third party than OneDrive. That functional difference gets smaller every year as OneDrive adds features. And third party apps like 1Password are moving to their own subscription service.

Onedrive also includes MS Office... for the same price.
I guess that might depend on your Office use.

Apparently, it's the same 2TB total storage limit, but that can be used by 6 people instead of 1.
So, assuming each person doesn't actually need all 2TB, you'd only pay $17/month, instead of $60/month (for 6 individual plans, albeit then each user would get 2TB).

When idisk went away I switched to dropbox and haven't looked at the other options. I still miss idisk.
