Feds grab up a women for dancing and trying to give them flowers - Wags - 07-25-2020 This is some SciFi right here. What country are we in? The feds just kidnapped this person for dancing in front of them with flowers. Another fed shot me with a rubber bullet while filming (when you see the camera flinch about 40 seconds in). https://twitter.com/EndSoundtrack/status/1286616736695857152?s=20 It's the second one down. Sorry about the Twitter link but I don't know how else to get it out. Re: Feds grab up a women for dancing and trying to give them flowers - RgrF - 07-25-2020 Line of vets in front of line of moms Re: Feds grab up a women for dancing and trying to give them flowers - Racer X - 07-25-2020 Must have been Deadly Nightshade blooms, and the Feds felt threatened. Re: Feds grab up a women for dancing and trying to give them flowers - Lemon Drop - 07-25-2020 That is horrifying. Are these private contractors? I think we have a bunch of Blackwater types out there with very little training, big guns and permission from somebody to terrorize us. It's a big karma slap to America - we did this to the Iraqis and Afghans and then immigrants, now its been unleashed on us. This writer says they are private contractors, which would explain in part the lack of identification on their uniforms. https://medium.com/@wkc6428/the-lead-federal-agency-responding-to-protesters-in-portland-employs-thousands-of-private-db137349f8b0 What has not been reported widely in the media, however, is the fact that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) unit that is coordinating the “crowd control” effort — an agency called the Federal Protective Service (FPS) — is composed largely of contract security personnel. Those contractors are being furnished to FPS by major private-sector security companies like Blackwater corporate descendant Triple Canopy as well as dozens of other private security firms. In fact, FPS spends more than $1 billion a year on these contract security guards who are authorized to conduct crowd control at federal properties, such as those in Portland. And, based on available photographic and document evidence, it appears those private contractors are now part of the federal force arrayed in Portland and are likely to be part of the federal response President Trump has promised to stand up in multiple other cities, including Chicago, Detroit, New York, Philadelphia and other urban centers led by Democratic mayors across the country. Re: Feds grab up a women for dancing and trying to give them flowers - deckeda - 07-25-2020 The federal police in Portland don’t even understand what ‘arrests’ are This is a multilayered problem with a simple premise: to be unaccountable, and make a LOT of money doing it. The 4th Amendment is clear, but not clear enough for the lawsuit the Oregon AG brought apparently. We should have NEVER had the DHS created, especially out of the panic of a major tragedy we were also embarrassed by. So ... we once again shored up our “exceptionalism” by wrapping it up in a feel-good Patriot Act, and by golly an entirely new Cabinet position. There, that’s gonna take care of it. We used to task entities like the CIA and even the FBI to ferret out foreign enemies. But no, instead of managing them we had to recreate that wheel with the worthless DHS. We used to quell unrest within America with a quaint little idea called the National Guard. Ha, ha. Is it any surprise this department has found a perverse path in the absence of true need? Just another gift from the Party of Small Government. Re: Feds grab up a women for dancing and trying to give them flowers - samintx - 07-25-2020 The dancing lady giving them the “finger” was an act of violence? At that point it becomes, “she was asking for it” and other nonsense. Re: Feds grab up a women for dancing and trying to give them flowers - sekker - 07-25-2020 History is being written. This is either the end of our representative democracy or a new chapter in re-taking our country. Not a lot of middle ground left.
