Massive troll opportunity missed. He could have had someone schedule the button to represent something new each day. Today it’s the appearance of Maude reruns. Each meeting is subsequently paused for 30 minutes, 24 if they bought copies without commercials. Tomorrow, someone arrives to tap dance.

Sure looks the same, but hopefully he has it setup for something healthier than diet soda, which really wouldn't be hard to do.

One of the articles I read about it said that the button itself pre-dated 45's term, but didn't say what it's function was for earlier presidents.
In the movies, a button like that on a desk usually opens a trap door in the floor for the person in front of the desk to "exit" through. Sort of a "you're fired" button.
