True. But there are various charges and jurors tend to compromise.

the startrib posted a story, the jury, who are they? with brief descriptions of the jurors... certainly doesn't seem like a right wing bunch. Seems to me like mostly mild lefties and a few right down the middle.

Can't be retried. The defense could try that stuff on appeal following a conviction tho I doubt any of that would fly.
