Anchorage to Juneau, 14 hours by car. Canada and a ferry are involved. Most people fly instead. - deckeda - 04-26-2021 Here's an exception: AK State Sen. Lora Reinbold https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2021/04/26/alaska-lawmaker-blasted-airline-mask-tyranny-now-shes-banned-only-flights-capital/ Feel free to read about the injustice of it all, or not. She doesn't really seem worth the effort. Re: Anchorage to Juneau, 14 hours by car. Canada and a ferry are involved. Most people fly instead. - RgrF - 04-26-2021 It's behind a paywall - why do that? PS: How would that be different than if I were to link to a subscriber only sub-stack? Re: Anchorage to Juneau, 14 hours by car. Canada and a ferry are involved. Most people fly instead. - davester - 04-26-2021 Her district, Eagle River, has a population of about 20,000. So, probably only around 10,000 voters. So, she represents about 0.006% of the US. That's smaller than a city council district in my city (Berkeley). Think of her as that batty city councilmember who lives down the street, not a person worthy of a seat in congress. Even so, you could probably just google her name and find an article on this. Re: Anchorage to Juneau, 14 hours by car. Canada and a ferry are involved. If it's the latter, it's because that's the resource I had. Let me know if I can Google "Sen. Lora Reinbold" for you. Re: Anchorage to Juneau, 14 hours by car. Canada and a ferry are involved. Most people fly instead. - Z - 04-26-2021 They... grow them special in Eagle River. Eagle River is one of the communities that make up the Municipality of Anchorage (bigger than Rhode Island!), which covers a bit over 1700 sq. mi. of land (what can we say, the mountains need their space). One of the two Eagle River-Chugiak members of Anchorage Assembly members that Mrs. Z serves with is equally batshit - e.g.: https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2021/01/27/alaska-nazi-license-plate/ You'll be shocked (SHOCKED!) to learn that Reinbold and Allard are purportedly friends. Thanks, no thanks. Re: Anchorage to Juneau, 14 hours by car. Canada and a ferry are involved. Most people fly instead. - deckeda - 04-26-2021 I missed that story. And Allard was on the Human Rights Commission?! Re: Anchorage to Juneau, 14 hours by car. Canada and a ferry are involved.
