How much does the least expensive PC running Windows Vista cost presently?

A couple of weeks ago, Staples had one for $299 - free vista upgrade included. And that was WITH a CRT monitor, after rebates of course

Yeah, good luck EVER getting those "rebates" -- I think you'll find that at least some of those "rebates" require a year's signup with dialup services and/or MSN and/or AOL. Yeah.

Cheapest Vista PC I know of is boot camp running Vista.

We've taken a look at the current edition(s) of Vista because we have to be able to install it (using BC or Parallels) for our customers, and so far we're REALLY unimpressed.

Sure, they painted the house some MUCH nicer colours, and rearranged the furniture a bit, but it's still the House that DOS Built underneath the trappings.

Some of these should at least be compliant.

I thought that Vista wouldn't run on Parallels, that the EULA forbids Vista on a non-Windows host virtual machine and Windows stoopid Genuine Advantage would prevent that.
