Explain this redirection - Mac1337 - 01-09-2007
I am trying to register a domain name that is "taken". When I go to that site, I get redirected to another domain name. Why is then what I wanted taken?

Pretty simple. Whoever owns the domain you want has it forwarded to another domain. Simple as that. Just because it isn't actively being used as a website, or even have a web page up, doesn't mean that someone doesn't own it.

What C(-)rish said; as an example, I have a domain which redirects to my .Mac website. I also have a couple of short domains that redirect to other .Mac hosted sites.
