Apple releases iOS 14.7 with bug fixes, security enhancements
A new update to iOS 14 has been released, bringing with them security features, general performance improvements, and bug fixes.
The new iOS 14.7 release is now rolling out after beta testing, and is available worldwide as Apple's content delivery network propagates.
Where those previous releases brought the controversial App Tracking Transparency, these appear to be focused more on performance improvements, and unspecified bug fixes. Following the unveiling of iOS 15 and iPadOS 15, it's now unlikely that any update before those will be significant.
Update 1:48 PM ET: Despite some initial signs and documentation pointing to a release of iPadOS 14.7 in parallel with iOS 14.7, it appears that the download of the update itself isn't fully available.

I'll check next month if it fixed the issues from 14.6 without creating new ones.

I've always thought of a thing as either available or not available - not sure what 'not fully available' means. The article doesn't say.

I hope it fixes the Pocdcast app on the iPhone. It uses tons of battery and heats up the phone. I have to force quit it after use, or it gets so hot the screen darkens.
Waiting for the dust to clear--will try it tonight.

I wondered about that too.
Based on one of the comments, apparently AI viewed the 14.7 Update as a suite of updates, of which a watchOS update is supposedly available, while the iPadOS update is not.

I didn't update to 14.6 because of the many comments about battery life ... as it is, I'm noticing with 14.5 that I'm not getting the battery life I'd like. I'll wait on this one to see if it fixes things...

Lots of bugs in iOS 14.6. I’m going to try updating to see if 14.7 squashes some.
EDIT: Siri is feeling left out and needs ‘lots of hugs’ this morning…

I've got no love for Siri.
From update to update, I can't tell if Siri is getting better or worse.
Worst of all is Siri on the HomePod, which is near useless.
I can't use Siri on my Watch or 'Phone without pressing a button, because HomePod Siri takes over and 'Fail!' is her only option.
