GOP antivaxxer dead of Covid:

H. Scott Apley, a councilmember of Dickinson, Texas and member of the Texas State Republican Executive Committee, has died from COVID-19.

… Apley [was described] as "a staunch conservative and devout Christian" who also left behind a long history of anti-mask and anti-vax propaganda on his social media accounts.

"In May, Apley posted an invitation for a 'mask burning' being held at a bar in Cincinnati, commenting, 'I wish I lived in the area!'" reports The Daily Beast. "A couple of weeks earlier, he posted a news article about giveaways and incentives meant to encourage people to get vaccinated, writing, 'Disgusting.'…Recently, he suggested that mask mandates… were akin to Na zism."

And the there was this:

(Dr. Wen is a former Health Commisioner of Baltimore)

The Texas Republican Party confirmed Apley’s death on Twitter…conspicuously leaving off his cause of death.

The 45-year-old leaves behind a wife and a young child (both of whom have also tested positive for Covid).

A GoFundMe page has been set up for medical (and now funeral) expenses and has raised ~$29K so far.

No pity for him, or the wife if she also believes in this idiocy. My pity is for the young child who does not get to decide how they live.

If I’m reading the article correctly, he went to the hospital on Sunday and was dead by Wednesday. Yikes - that’s fast.

He probably had had it for a while, and only went to the hospital because he was deathly ill.

At least he died has he lived - a free man.

And yes, that's sarcasm.

Aside from reaping what he sowed, I wonder about the health of those around him and what they've been thinking very recently, particularly with respect to his child.
