Rocket man burns his dorm kitchen - lost in space - 02-22-2022
A student at BYU was brewing up rocket fuel in his dorm kitchen when it exploded, setting off the sprinkler system which left inches of water on the floors. The fireball caused significant damage to the kitchen. 22 students were displaced. Police reminded students to "keep your experiments in the lab."
Maybe this kid shouldn't be trusted with volatile experiments anywhere, lab or not.

Reminds me of a dipstick my Freshman year who liked to make batches of ammonia/ iodine and leave little explosive “pranks”. Ultimately he blew up his dorm room and was expelled..

I hope he wasn’t higher than the second floor when he was expelled.

Isn't that how JPL got started? A couple of CalTech students were brewing rocket fuel and blew up a building. In that case, though, they just moved the enterprising youths off to a farm somewhere and let them get on with it.
