They're spinning laptop drives inside, right? 5400 or 7200 I'd assume. Re: FOR SALE: Various External HDDs & Enclosures (2.5 & 3.5; NVMe) - Zoidberg - 02-25-2022 decay wrote: Yes; they're 2.5 platter-style HDDs inside, and I am fairly certain they are 5400 but do not recall. I purchased from a gentleman on Etsy; basically he opens the game cart (he would say he tried to buy non-functional cartridges so as not to ruin working games), removes the innards, and replaces with a platter drive, which fits quite nicely. I've never taken them apart to see. I tried to get him to try the same with flash drives and old Atari 2600 cartridges; he said he'd get back to me on that. Flash (with an extender cord) might work. Also the smaller SSD cards (am I thinking of the M.2?) might be a nice fit. (Next up, isolinear cards a la Star Trek TNG. But I'd still like the floppy-sized "memory tape" cards that TOS used.) Re: FOR SALE: Various External HDDs & Enclosures (2.5 & 3.5; NVMe) - Racer X - 02-26-2022 I'd like the 2 2TB $35 bus powered drives. Re: FOR SALE: Various External HDDs & Enclosures (2.5 & 3.5; NVMe) * LAST CALL - Racer X - 03-05-2022 I'll take one of the 2TB OWC Mercury Elite Pro Mini gen 2. Whichever of the 2 you think is better. |
