Ugh. decisions, decisions. Snow clean-up or no? - wurm - 02-25-2022
We're right on the snow/rain line. It's been coming down sporadically most of the day. There's about 3 inches of what looks like snow but it's probably 80% slush in the driveway and on the walks. The snowthrower becomes a slushthrower with stuff like this. We all have all-wheel drive vehicles. The main roads are totally clear.
It's about 35 now, going down to upper 20s tonight, topping out at about 30 tomorrow, then up to 40 on Sunday. It will EVENTUALLY melt. But in the meantime it will likely freeze. Trying to decide if it's worth the effort.
So what would you do?
Those whose reply will be "What is this snow you speak of?" need not participate.

It could take more than one 40 degree day to melt that. Do you feel lucky?

This time of year with the higher sun angle, let it thaw because your snowblower will take a beating blowing slush. Save it for what the plow pushes onto the end of your drive.

Thanks, folks. The more I think about it, if I attack it at all it will be tomorrow when the precipitation has stopped. I'm not going to go out there now and get soaked. No one has to go anywhere tomorrow morning so I'm staying put.

I vote a big old NO!
This from your friend in the Deep South, who just stays inside till any and all frozen precipitation goes away, so take that advice for exactly how little it is worth.
