OK, that was totally a clickbait topic because you still have to spend over $10k for anything. This writer says don't but Canon's recently announced $17K and $20K 800mm f/5.6 L IS USM and RF 1200mm f/8 lenses.
Buy this instead and save thousands:
Extender RF 2x: $599 and Canon RF 400mm f/2.8 L IS USM: $11,999
Differential: $4,401
Canon RF 600mm f/4 L IS USM Plus Extender RF 2x: $13,598
Differential: $6,401

But how are you supposed to get to 1600mm f/11 and 2400mm f/16?!?!?!?!
Supposedly, the RF extenders don't stack, but I haven't looked into that and am just going off a FredMiranda for sale post where someone wanted to trade their RF 400mm for an EF 400mm so they could stack teleconverters.

HOWEVER, if the converter isn't optimized and matched to that lens, the results aren't as good. How much less, I don't think anyone has calculated. If I had gotten that job at DxO labs, I would have let you know.

I'm sure (almost) it's not merely a 2X teleconverter built in to the lens.
