Obviously, with things as they are and the Russkie cutoff in effect, the price of gas is going to escalate.
The Biden administration and the Dems in Congress must be on the air every day reminding Americans that they are sacrificing on behalf of the Ukranians, who are being blown apart and murdered by Putin.
It's a time to remind Americans that patriotic actions are worthwhile and they should subdue their bitching because they asked us to stop the Russian oil, gas and coal. It's time to take one for the team.

It's the Republicans who SHOULD be on the air promoting the sacrifice to be be made. Of course it is in their partisan interest to scream CUT RUSSIAN OIL without ever mentioning the effects here.
Wouldn't it be nice if the oil companies helped out too, maybe cutting their profits for the duration.

You're awfully optimistic.
I find it amazing how much people's sense of well being is tied to gas prices. But there's a lot I don't understand about people.

A client in Texas said gas was up $2, so biden should be tossed out, or something along those lines.
I told him that if gas prices were the only metric he used to rate a presidents job performance, he might want to broaden his mind a little.
clearly another person that doesn't remember the 70s gas crises or odd/even fueling days... or stations with signs saying "no gas".

I remember those days, and turning the oil furnace down, and only running christmas lights until 9pm, instead of all night.
A lot of musclecars got crushed back then, just because of gas prices.

You mightn’t think that Republicans could simultaneously demand that we stop buying Russian oil and attack President Biden for high gasoline prices. That is, you mightn’t think that if you’d spent the past 25 years sleeping in a cave. In fact, that’s exactly what’s about to happen.
Ehh, politics. Viewed through a purely political lens, Biden was probably smart to wait until there was widespread public and political demand to stop buying Russian oil. He’ll still be blamed for yet higher gas prices, but he can at least say I told you this would be painful, but we felt as a country it was the right thing to do.
