This Old House:'How to Make a Cornhole Game Set' ($72) - SteveG - 05-27-2022 ![]() This Old House:'How to Make a Cornhole Game Set' ($72 or so) https://www.thisoldhouse.com/yards/21016647/how-to-build-a-cornhole-game-set Cornhole is everywhere! The backyard beanbag-toss game that caught fire in the Midwest now boasts its own association, Wikipedia entry, and myriad online purveyors. It's easy to see why it's become such a barbeque favorite: You can hold a beverage in one hand and loft your beanbag with the other. But why pay hundreds of dollars for game boards adorned with your feeble alma mater when you can proudly go DIY by making high quality ones with birch plywood and 2x4s? Cut List • ½-inch birch-veneer plywood: two at 24 by 48 inches • 2x4 sides: four at 48 inches • 2x4 ends: four at 21 inches • 2x4 legs: four at 12 inches Re: This Old House:'How to Make a Cornhole Game Set' ($72) - mrbigstuff - 05-27-2022 Not crazy heavy, but maybe too much to lift for the grandparents. I'd sub out some 1x4 boards for the frame with screwed supports along the length. Re: This Old House:'How to Make a Cornhole Game Set' ($72) - C(-)ris - 05-27-2022 That is a pretty basic design. If it were me I wouldn't screw the deck in from the top, I would use a pocket hole jig and use correct height screws to secure it from the bottom. Re: This Old House:'How to Make a Cornhole Game Set' ($72) - Racer X - 05-27-2022 cornhole is another name for the same orifice. Because whole corn kernals can come out of the hole. ![]() Re: This Old House:'How to Make a Cornhole Game Set' ($72) - Carnos Jax - 05-27-2022 Yes, but even the great ‘cornholio’ referred to it as his bunghole. ;-) ![]() Re: This Old House:'How to Make a Cornhole Game Set' ($72) - mrbigstuff - 05-27-2022 Carnos Jax wrote: There are some of us of a certain age who cannever, ever say that word and not think of this.
