Cheapest for regular today is $6.59 Re: gas suddenly down 15-25¢ - Tiangou - 05-28-2022 Averaging around 4.69/gallon here. $4.59 at the discount stations. Which is where it has been for at least the last 5 days. Surprised it didn't go up for the holiday weekend. Re: gas suddenly down 15-25¢ - rgG - 05-28-2022 $3.89 at Costco today. It’s an election year, so the governor has extended the gas tax holiday till sometime in July. Re: gas suddenly down 15-25¢ - pqrst - 05-28-2022 Gasoline prices in most places (and since the late 70s) have have been an unregulated market. The sellers and buyers are free to buy and sell wherever (subject to local mix requirements). Suppliers can move around gas based on where they will get the best price (free market). And that can include overseas. It is one reason for the lack of gas lines (a la late 70s). You can much count on stations not running out gas. Altho the price maybe high. VS late 70s where the price was low but there were gas lines. Free market. Also gas pipelines are still pretty regional (ie: theee is no pipeline connecting west coast with Midwest) Re: gas suddenly down 15-25¢ - Tiangou - 05-29-2022 pqrst wrote: I disagree about it preventing gas lines. Look at what happened two years ago when they had problems getting drivers and refineries were barely operating. The gas went where it was most marked up and much of the country had lines. Only lockdowns and telecommuting kept it from being worse because fewer drivers were on the roads. Re: gas suddenly down 15-25¢ - Speedy - 05-29-2022 We EV owners pass gas stations and smile. Re: gas suddenly down 15-25¢ - Fritz - 05-29-2022 over $6 for reg! man, that's f'k'n inf'k'nsane!
